Restorative Yoga: The Art of Doing Nothing

Embrace the art of letting go!

It’s very important that we re-learn the art of resting and relaxing. Not only does it help prevent the onset of many illnesses that develop through chronic tension and worrying; it allows us to clear our minds, focus, and find creative solutions to problems.
— Thich Nhat Hanh

Unwind, relax, and restore with two hours of Restorative Yoga. In today's fast-paced world, it’s important to find time to rest, to counteract the effects of stress and tension on both our bodies and minds. Restorative yoga offers a gentle yet profound way to release deeply held tension, calm the nervous system, and rejuvenate the spirit.

What is Restorative Yoga?

Restorative Yoga is a slow, gentle practice of long-held postures that provides an opportunity to “just be”, letting the body rest and heal, and the mind to settle.

In a Restorative Yoga session, you’ll practise in a room with minimal distractions. Your body will be cushioned and supported with tools like blankets, cushions, blocks, bolsters to encourage stillness and promote deep rest.

… but I can’t get down on the floor!

You can practise Restorative Yoga from a chair (or two)! In this session, there is space and equipment for 2-3 people to practise all or some postures from chairs.

Want to join me?

We’ll start with gentle movements, stretches and breathwork to ease the body before settling into the longer-held Restorative Yoga postures.

There is nothing to do in Restorative Yoga. Let me guide you through this gentle practice and discover the power of doing nothing but rest!
